While reviewing the booths at the 2017 IORA Summit exhibition, President Joko Widodo had the chance to visit the rattan chair booth. Jokowi was with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Bangladesh Prime Minister Seikh Hasina, South African President Jacob Zuma, and Tanzanian President Ali Mohammed.
Jokowi also invited the leaders of the countries participating in the summit to sit on the lounge chairs. They sat for about five minutes.
According to the owner of the Satori rattan chair, Satori Rattan, he was very happy when his products were occupied by the heads of state/heads of government. Moreover, they also praised the lounge chairs made by Satori.
“Wow, I feel very proud. This means that the chair we designed can be occupied by Mr. Jokowi, our president, and not only Mr. Jokowi who sits. This means that there are the Prime Minister of Australia, the President of South Africa, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and also the President of Mozambique,” said Satori to kumparan at the Jakarta Convention Center, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (7/3).
“The price of the chair is IDR 2.2 million. Usually we use dollars, right. My production specializes in rattan. And the rattan is very wide, it can be used for lamps, beds. But we focus more on chairs,” he continued.
Satori also said that at that time Turnbull praised the lounge chair he made. Satori added that Hasina also praised the chair she was sitting on.
“Turnbull said that the chair was comfortable and good. While the Prime Minister of Bangladesh (Hasina) even said that she didn’t want to move from the chair she was sitting on,” said Satori.
Satori explained that after the heads of state sat on his chair, many ordered lounge chairs from him. Especially the chair Jokowi sat on.
“Earlier, there was someone from the Bangladesh Embassy who directly ordered it for there. Earlier, there was also someone from the Presidential Security Forces, the Ministry of Trade,” he said proudly.
While reviewing the IORA Summit exhibition, Jokowi was accompanied by the Minister of Trade, Enggartiasto Lukito, and the Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Triawan Munaf.
